What is the q of tourist quality

On many occasions we hear about hotels, restaurants and even beaches that boast the ‘Q’ for Tourism Quality, and although it sounds great, we don’t really understand what it means.

Well, this ‘Q’ is the mark that represents quality in the Spanish tourism sector, giving the places that have it more recognition, prestige and reliability, which in the end makes them known and promoted by the Secretary of State for Tourism and by the Autonomous Communities.
However, it would not be logical that any beach or establishment could effortlessly obtain the ‘Q’ seal, so to achieve it there is a strict process of analysis and audits by the Spanish Institute of Tourist Quality, which guarantees that everything offered by the area can be distinguished by its quality, safety and professionalism.

TÜV Rheinland, recognised by the ICTE as the main supervisory body, is in charge of carrying out the audit. This entity organises the audit taking into account three basic pillars: the quality system, the quality standards and finally the physical checks, generally applicable in any service (although with possible variations). After this, the ICTE is in charge of making a definitive evaluation that promises reliable results.

Seeking out establishments with this mark means making sure you’re going to the highest rated places to enjoy an excellent tourist experience, which doesn’t mean you can’t also find other beautiful beaches to enjoy, many of which also boast the prestigious Blue Flag.

You can find many Spanish beaches with this guarantee on the Tourist Quality website (http://www.calidadturistica.es).
