Are you a fan of nudism? Then you’ll be interested to know that one out of every three beaches in the Basque Country allows this practice. Although naturism is not forbidden, some councils in this Spanish autonomous community have chosen to set aside areas of beaches and coves for those who promote direct contact with nature.

Barinatxe
Also known as La Salvaje, Barinatxe beach, located in Sopela, Vizcaya, is very popular with nudists. However, you should know that naturism is mainly practised at both ends of the beach.
Barrika
In Vizcaya you will also find the beach of Barrika, a wild sandy area surrounded by spectacular cliffs. This beach can actually be divided into two: La Cantera and Meñakoz. Both are really worth a visit.
Beach of Azkorri
We continue in Vizcaya to tell you about Azkorri beach, which is located in Getxo. It is a sandy area of stones, rocks and a grassy area surrounded by a cliff. Nudism is usually practised on the left side.
Saturraran beach
In GuipĂșzcoa it is also possible to find numerous nudist beaches. One of them is Saturraran, a sandy beach in Mutriku, which offers 330 metres of golden sand and beautiful surroundings. It is important to bear in mind that naturism is usually practised in the coves next to the beach.
Zarautz Beach
The beach of Zarautz, one of the most famous beaches in the Basque Country, could not be missing from this list. It is a nudist beach with many services. Nudism is usually practised at the eastern end.
La Zurriola
Finally, we would like to talk about La Zurriola, which is located in San Sebastian. It is important to bear in mind that, although nudism can be practised in any area, most naturists tend to concentrate on the stretch that goes from the Moneo cubes to the new breakwater.
