Good climate, delicious gastronomy, beautiful landscapes, culture… The Valencian Community has a perfect coastline to delight those who are looking for a traditional sun and beach holiday in the Mediterranean.
CastellĂłn is undoubtedly one of the great favourites, and the fact is that this province has beautiful coastal towns with history such as PeñĂscola.
Are you going to treat yourself to a getaway in the area? Then choose some of the best beaches to visit.– North Beach: This is the most popular beach in the town. Its 5 kilometres of extension mean that you can usually find a space in the sand despite its high occupancy.
– Playa Sud: Unlike the previous one, this beach is barely more than half a kilometre long, although it is equally busy, probably due to the advantages offered by the fact that it is located to the south of the town centre of PeñĂscola (accommodation, restaurants, shops, services, etc.).
– El Pebret: Beautiful beach of fine golden sand almost 300 metres long; it is located in an isolated environment without any type of facilities or services.
– Balseta: More than a kilometre of gravel and pebbles on an isolated beach with practically no services. You know, come prepared from home or from your hotel!
– Cala El Moro: Another isolated beach, with bowls and no services. However, for some reason this beach has a medium occupancy.
Like the last three mentioned, PeñĂscola has plenty of secluded beaches for those who want a quieter and more reserved environment: Cala BadĂșn, El Volante, La cubanita, Cala Arsilaga or Puerto Azul, among others.
After a long day of sun and beach on its coasts, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the old part of the town, where you will find the historic Papa Luna Castle (a must-see if you visit the city), the promenade or the entertaining hippie market.
