If you want to spend a few days on one of the most typically Mediterranean coasts, you should go to the Levante coast, a place where the magnificent natural landscapes of beach and mountains are combined with a good atmosphere and a perfect range of leisure activities to make you forget about everything else.
Oropesa del Mar, in CastellĂłn, is one of the best options if you are travelling to the Costa de Azahar. It is a beach of soft golden sand and clean, deep blue waters, often accompanied by green pine trees and some cliffs that plunge into the sea.
However, not all beaches on this coast are the same, and you’ll find everything from the most peaceful to the most atmospheric day and night. Take a look around and decide what you fancy for your holiday, you’re sure to find it in Oropesa!
Morro de gos: In spite of its particular name (which translates into Spanish as ‘Morro de Perro’) this is a beautiful semi-urban beach that offers pleasant fine, clear sand and calm waters perfect for water sports.
– Les AmplĂ ries: Like the previous one, this is an extensive beach located to the north of Cabo de Oropesa.
– BahĂa de la Concha: This is located near the marina and is the most important tourist centre on the entire coast of Oropesa. As you would expect, it has all the tourist services and a very good range of leisure activities along the seafront promenade (bars, restaurants, shops and small shops, etc.) and the adjoining streets. It has received the Blue Flag awarded by the European Union to beaches with the best natural and service quality.
– Platgetes de Bellver: This is a set of two small semi-urban coves of medium occupancy, characterised by their sandy and gravelly soil. It is neither the most comfortable nor the most special, but it is not bad if you want to get away from the more crowded tourist centres.
-RenegĂ : In this residential area the architecture is perfectly integrated with the green Mediterranean landscape, so you will gain in both senses.
