Spain’s Costa Tropical is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and atmospheric in the whole country, and if we add to its exceptional natural conditions the warm Mediterranean climate and an environment brimming with good atmosphere we get the place for a perfect holiday.
Granada has a total of eight coastal towns to offer you some of the best beaches in Andalusia and Spain. Would you like to discover them? Don’t miss a single detail and come along on your next holiday.
If you are looking for a lively atmosphere 24 hours a day where you can feel that all your leisure and service needs are met, you should go to the most bustling and touristy beaches on the coast, which are found especially in the towns of Motril and Almuñécar.
In the former we recommend the beaches of Calahonda, Poniente, Granada, Torrenueva and Carchuna, while if you go to Almuñécar in search of a typical Andalusian atmosphere you should not miss the beaches of Pozuelo, La Velilla, La Caletilla, San Cristóbal (where you will find the promenade), La Herradura or El Tesorillo.
If you are looking for quieter places to spend a few days relaxing away from the tourist crowds of the above locations it is best to go a little further afield to other beaches such as La Guardia or El Caletón de Salobreña or some of the isolated beaches of Gualchos, Sorvilån (Las Cañas, los Yesos) or Albuñol (Playilla, Chilches, el Gaiterillo), which have isolated beaches that are not too crowded even in the main summer months.
If you are a naturist or if you want to try nudism for the first time this holiday you can rest assured, because on the coast of Granada you have plenty to choose from: Cantarrijån or El Muerto in Almuñécar, La Joya in Motril, Playa del Ruso in Albuñol and La Rijana, in Gualchos-Castell de Ferro.
