A municipality of historical and religious importance
As we were saying, today we are taking you to Tenerife to discover Candelaria, home to the Virgin of Candelaria, patron saint of the Canary Islands. For this reason, it is considered to be the archipelago’s place of pilgrimage par excellence. In addition to its religious importance, the municipality also has great historical value, as it was here that the Guanche and Castilian cultures came together.
Few people
The coastline of Candelaria has beaches of black sand and callao, cliffs, lava mantles, natural caves and ravines. For this reason, it is a place worth visiting all year round. The beaches are not usually crowded except in summer, when the island fills up with tourists. Even so, they are not overcrowded, as is the case with other beaches on Tenerife.
A peaceful and welcoming atmosphere
One of the best things about the beaches of this Tenerife municipality is that they have a calm and welcoming atmosphere. However, when it comes to bathing you should be careful with the waves, which are usually strong. We leave you with our gallery below, where you will find more images of the coast of Candelaria.
