We are sorry to tell you that under this title you won’t find a beach full of women or a coastline specially designed to satisfy them… no, because Playa Mujeres is nothing more and nothing less than one of the most beautiful beaches in the municipality of Yaiza, in Lanzarote.
Are you going to visit the island and would like to know if the area is worth a visit? Here are some more details so that you can decide for yourself.
Despite belonging to an island of volcanic origin, Playa Mujeres is characterised by an environment that offers quite the opposite: almost 400 metres of very fine golden sand, crystal clear waters that turn turquoise towards the horizon and a rustic environment in which the dark slopes of sparse vegetation protect the bay from the outside world. It is this last point that will remind us where we are… otherwise we might as well be on any Mediterranean beach!
It is precisely this that makes Playa Mujeres a secluded environment ideal for relaxation and family days of sun and beach; despite the above, it is also quite crowded at almost any time of the year.
This is undoubtedly due to the magnificent location of the beach, as it forms part of the protected natural park of Los Ajaches, where you can spend the day for a day that is both cultural and at the same time a day at the beach. Entrance to the park, by the way, costs âŹ3.
Playa Mujeres has a car park, cleaning service and toilets and is only 300 metres from the Hotel Papagayo so that you can find the basic services that the beach lacks. Nearby you can also find the magnificent Las Coloradas beach and El Pozo beach.
