Garden beach a beach designed by cesar manrique in tenerife

If you’d like to escape for a few days from the intense cold that we’re experiencing on the mainland, then don’t think twice and take a short break to the Canary Islands! All the islands have something to offer the traveller. In Tenerife, for example, you can relax on the beach, enjoy nature, climb Mount Teide, see shows, have fun in theme parks, play golf, enjoy its rich gastronomy…

One of the great attractions of Tenerife is that you can enjoy its beaches all year round. What’s more, the island offers beaches to suit all tastes. Today we would like to tell you about one of the most recommended: Playa Jardín. Would you like to join us?

Designed by César Manrique

Playa Jardín is one of the most famous beaches in the tourist centre of Puerto de la Cruz, in the north of the island. It was designed in the 1990s by the Canarian artist César Manrique and is designed to guarantee relaxation for visitors. Just getting to the beach is worth the effort. You will pass through gardens of native flora, stone paths and waterfalls. What’s more, from the beach you can enjoy wonderful views of Mount Teide.

Divided into three sections

As you can see for yourself in the images we show you in our gallery, this is a black sand beach. It is divided into three sections: Playa del Castillo, Playa del Charcón and Playa de Punta Brava. And although it has a breakwater that protects it from the waves, some areas are designed for surfing.

All kinds of services

Finally, we would like to point out that the beach offers all kinds of services: showers, changing rooms, access for people with reduced mobility, sun lounger and parasol hire… What’s more, it is surrounded by a promenade that connects with cafés, terraces, gardens and children’s playgrounds. Here is our gallery, where you will find more images of this beach located in Tenerife. Don’t miss it!
