The other day we told you about El MĂ©dano beach, one of the most popular beaches in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. However, in Spain we can find a place with the same name that has nothing to envy to the one on the other side of the Atlantic. It is located on the coast of the municipality of Granadilla de Abona, specifically in the town of the same name, on the island of Tenerife, and, as well as being the longest on the island at two kilometres long, it is spectacularly beautiful.
The sand on El MĂ©dano beach is fine and golden, its waters are very calm and transparent, and children can enjoy its shallow waters. It also has a large number of services and opportunities for water sports. All this makes it the ideal beach for families, although adventurers, lovers and, in general, everyone will enjoy this destination enormously.
As we have already mentioned, on El MĂ©dano beach you will find all kinds of services, such as changing rooms, showers, sun loungers, beach bars where you can have a drink and restaurants where you can enjoy a good meal.
Moreover, you will not be able to get bored on this beach, as you will be able to practice sea sports such as surfing, thanks to its constant winds. Surfers use only one area of the beach, so children can play safely while adults relax in the sun. The Kitesurfing World Championship is held here every year, where hundreds of sportsmen and women take to the sea to perform pirouettes on their boards attached to large kites.
All these elements have earned El MĂ©dano the prestigious Blue Flag, so don’t you dare to visit it?
