Samarador beach in mallorca

Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands, one of the favourite sun and beach destinations not only for Spaniards but also for a large number of international tourists.

Although the island has many beaches of excellent quality, the truth is that the beach of S’Amarador, in the municipality of SantanyĂ, is the best.
Fine white sand, little slope, crystal clear turquoise waters, a very Mediterranean natural environment full of pines and thistles… The barely 150 metres of the small cove of S’Amarador are the ideal destination for those in search of a little peace and quiet without renouncing the proximity to the main tourist centres of the city.

Located six kilometres from S’Alqueria Blanca, this is one of the two beautiful beaches that make up the popular Cala MondragĂł, which also has the beautiful Cala de ses Fonts de n’AlĂs.

In comparison, the truth is that this unspoilt beach is much less crowded than the latter, possibly because of the few leisure services, facilities and security that can be found for the time being in the surrounding area.

In fact, although it is easy to reach Ses Fonts de n’AlĂs by train from Cala d’Or, the only way to get to S’Amarador is by car (there is a free parking area) or by walking some 400 metres along the seafront.

However, the paradisiacal beauty of this beach makes the journey and the walk worthwhile, and it is no coincidence that it has been considered the best in Spain and in the whole of Europe!

In addition, when you get tired of so many beaches, you can visit the beautiful surroundings of Cala MondragĂł (of which it forms part), which was declared a Natural Park in 1992 (785 hectares) by the Parliament of the Balearic Islands and a Natural Area of Special Interest for Birds in 1995.
