If you are a follower of this website, you will know that we are in love with Asturias, a Spanish autonomous community that everyone should visit at least once in their lives, among other things because it is home to some truly marvellous beaches. Today we want to move to this corner of the north of the peninsula to focus on a beach that we haven’t talked about yet.

We are referring to PorcĂa Beach, a natural wonder located in the municipality of El Franco, although it is shared with Tapia de Casariego. Would you like to find out more about this beach? Well, now you know what you have to do! Don’t miss anything we’ll tell you below!

A beach with pristine waters

PorcĂa Beach is characterised by its fine sand, its pebbles, its pristine waters, its river meanders and the islets of the Boy. As you can see in the pictures, this is where the river of the same name flows into the sea, which naturally separates the municipalities of El Franco and Tapia de Casariego. We would also like to point out that from the beach you can see the remains of an iron ore jetty and norayes on the rocks, a term that refers to a specific type of mooring on land.

A protected beach with good services

This beach is ideal for the youngest members of the family, as it is very protected. It is also easy to access and has good services. However, it is important to bear in mind that at high tide there is very little sand left for sunbathing. Fortunately, you can always find a spot in the surrounding meadows.

Difficult to park

Finally, we would like to point out that the car park is quite small, so in high season you will have a hard time parking nearby if you don’t arrive early. We leave you with our gallery below, where you’ll find more images of this beach located in Asturias. Don’t miss it!
