Visiting the Canary Islands is a pleasure practically at any time of the year, and while in the Mediterranean we are still in the coldest climates, thousands of tourists enjoy the sun and beach tourism of the archipelago.
If you are lucky enough to have a break during the Easter holidays, there is nothing better than enjoying the Lorenzo’s rays on some of the best beaches in Tenerife; among them is the popular beach of Las Teresitas, considered one of the most beautiful on the island. Would you like to know it?
Las Teresitas is a vast stretch of sand with more than a kilometre and a half of beautiful golden sand, bathed on the shore by crystal-clear waters in which a swim is a real pleasure (even more so after hours of enduring the scorching sun of the island).
In this sense, the beach is also ideal to visit with children, as the breakwater that protects it from the strong waves guarantees a high level of safety.
However, it is also true that it is a bit of a shock to find a light sandy coast in the midst of the dark, volcanic beaches of the north of Tenerife… No, this is not the work of an exceptional natural phenomenon, but the result of remodelling work carried out in 1973 in which some 4 kilos of sacks of golden sand brought directly from the Sahara were placed on the original seabed.
Despite its tourist and commercial appearance, the coast of Las Teresitas has managed to perfectly combine a charming natural environment of high mountains and green vegetation with a magnificent tourist environment where you will not be short of anything. In fact, close to the beach you’ll find plenty of bars, restaurants, discos and shops to help you have a great holiday.
If you are looking for a place for leisure, fun and tranquillity, don’t hesitate to visit this beach in the municipality of San AndrĂ©s, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
