Rijana beach in granada

Andalusia is one of the favourite sun and beach destinations for tourists from all over the world, and if we add to the beautiful Mediterranean coastal nature an exceptional atmosphere and gastronomy, it becomes the best option for a great holiday.

In this sense, Granada is exceptional thanks to its more than 80 kilometres of quiet and atmospheric beaches for all tastes, distributed between the Costa Tropical and the Costa del Sol.

Not a large beach

One of the best in the whole province is undoubtedly La Rijana, a beach of barely 250 metres located in the municipality of Gualchos (Castell de Ferro) which offers a quiet environment surrounded by high cliffs that protect it from the outside environment.

Despite the difficulties, many people make the effort to get there, because the beach is worth it: The arid surroundings of La Rijana offer a very particular and unusual aspect of the area, a place where the rocky mountains give way to a beach of fine golden sand and beautiful crystalline waters tinged with turquoise.

Perfect for diving and snorkelling.

Here you can usually find a lot of visitors enjoying long days of sun, beach and water activities such as scuba diving or snorkelling, and it is worth exploring the rich underwater life and the metal remains of sunken war material that serve as a refuge.

This small curvaceous cove is only 3 km from Calahonda, so despite its isolation and visible lack of facilities you can find everything you want within a short drive.

Incidentally, you should be careful when travelling by car, as many sources indicate that the road can be dangerous due to its zigzagging and unsafe roads.
