There are many people who wish to travel outside the Iberian Peninsula and repress their desire to do so for fear of having problems with the language, among other things.
However, there is an inexpensive and nearby option that is really worthwhile: the coast of Ceuta. We don’t often think of this Spanish autonomy in Africa as one of our holiday destinations, and yet despite crossing the pond we will still feel at home here.Today we want to tell you about one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in Ceuta, La Ribera. It is a small beach, barely 700 metres long and 70 metres wide, where the fine golden sand (semi-white) is bathed on the shore by the clean Mediterranean waters.
Since 2006 this beach has been improved thanks to the more than 175,000 cubic metres of sand that have increased its surface area, to the breakwaters that now protect it from the bands and to the new accesses that have been rehabilitated so that getting to the beach is not complicated at all.
If you want atmosphere you will also find it in La Ribera, and as in any coastal town or city on the peninsula, the area offers a beautiful promenade behind the walls where you will find a wide variety of services with bars, restaurants and local shops.
All of the above, together with its central location in the centre of Ceuta, have made it one of the most highly valued beaches in the city, as it is located on the popular Independencia street.
No wonder, then, that the beach already has the Blue Flag awarded by the European Union to the beaches with the best natural conditions and services on the continent… Are you up for a visit?
