Golden sand and a scandalous landscape. This is how we could define the Espasa beach, a spectacle for the eyes that is a must-see if you spend your summer holidays in Asturias.
It is over a kilometre long and is perfect for a relaxing stroll and for flying kites, as the wind conditions are usually very favourable.
It lacks nothing
It is located on the border between the municipalities of Caravia and Colunga and lacks nothing. There is a lifeguard during the summer season and several options of bars and restaurants within walking distance, so it is recommended to visit with the family and spend a full day.
There are also showers and toilets, while parking is not a problem because there is a parking area very close to the beach. The swell is usually moderate, although there are days when it is not difficult to see surfers testing their balance on a board.
Annual kite festival
It is worth mentioning that during the month of May there is usually a kite festival, although this year it took place on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of June. It has been organised by the AsociaciĂłn Deportivo Cultural Sierpe for the last 15 years and is always a great success in terms of attendance.
In case you want to take a look at the beach before going in, you can always do it from the viewpoint of El Fitu, a privileged place located in the Sueve mountain range.
