Would you like to discover it? It is Bastiagueiro beach, in Oleiros (A Coruña), undoubtedly the best place for surfing in complete safety, as it is free of sea currents and rocky bottoms.
This beautiful beach is protected on the left by two breakwaters, that of the port of A Coruña and that of the port of Oza. On the right is the Oleirense coastline, which prevents the force of the Atlantic sea from entering with all its might. Thanks to this, you can enjoy calm waters all year round. Does this sound like a good place to visit this summer?
This is a straight beach with a length of 580 metres of white sand. In addition to being ideal for surf lovers, it is perfect for families, as it is located in a semi-urban environment with many services around it: car parks, restaurants, cafes, toilets. It also has a bicycle lane that takes you to other beaches such as Santa Cruz or Santa Cristina. It also has the Blue Flag, due to its access for the disabled, its surveillance and rescue team and its cleaning service, among other reasons. You can get there by car, by bike and also by boat, by means of a beautiful motor boat trip that leaves from the port of A Coruña.
Surfers will be interested to know that several championships have been held on this beach, even at international level. In addition, as a curiosity, this beach was the favourite of the dictator Francisco Franco. He even used to close it to the public so that he could bathe here without people seeing him.
