Tenerife, like any other island in the world, is a destination where you can enjoy a swim at any of its beaches. However, tourists know that they will not find palm trees and golden sand like in the Caribbean, as we are talking about a volcanic territory characterised by its black sand and rocks.
A good example of this is Antequera beach, which can be reached by sea or along a path that is not suitable for everyone due to its difficulty.
An ideal beach for relaxing
It is worth walking along this path to enjoy the beauty of the place, which is dominated by the cliffs of the Anaga massif. Far from the city, with no disturbing noises, anyone can disconnect in a matter of seconds to forget about stress and put their mind at rest.
The grey sand is very fine and the waves are sometimes very strong, which is why it is advisable to visit at low tide. It is 400 metres long and 25 metres wide. There are never any problems to place a towel on it because it is a very quiet beach, so much so that some people take advantage of it to practise nudism.

Excursions are organised
You should know that excursions are organised to visit Antequera beach from points such as Las Teresitas beach. There is one that takes you to the Bailadero viewpoint before starting the descent, which takes about three hours, during which you can see some of the 50 botanical species endemic to the area.
When you arrive at your destination you realise that there are no services. You are isolated in a secluded paradise that envelops you from the first minute so that you never want to leave.
The beach, by the way, is in the municipality of Igueste de San Andrés, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
