With the beginning of autumn, the days at the beach come to an end. However, we can take advantage of the coldest months of the year to start planning the next summer holidays. For example, if you are planning to travel to Catalonia, you can make a list of the beaches you should visit. If you do, don’t forget to add Platja Fonda, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Brava.

Located in the municipality of Begur, the beach is situated at the foot of a cliff that offers shade. Would you like to find out more about this Catalan spot? Well, now you know what you have to do! Don’t miss anything we’ll tell you below!

A beach in the wild

As we were saying, Platja Fonda is located at the foot of a cliff. The best thing about this place is that it has not been modified by man. Its magnificent state of conservation is largely due to its difficult access. To reach the site you have to go down a lot of stairs, albeit in good condition. As you can imagine, the worst part is not going down them, but going up them.

Towards the port of Fornells

On the other hand, we would like to point out that, to the right of the beach, you can find a path that leads to the port of Fornells, a place that is also worth visiting.

An ideal beach for snorkelling

One of the great attractions of this place is its seabed, so don’t forget the necessary tools for snorkelling. Finally, we would like to mention that during the summer months there is a beach bar. We leave you with our gallery below, where you will find more images of this beach located on the Costa Brava. Don’t miss it!
