Let’s end the week doing what we like best: getting to know a beautiful Spanish beach. Will you join us? In this case we are going to move to the north of the peninsula, specifically to Cantabria, where you will find the beach of Oyambre, a beautiful place that you should visit if you are in the area.
Located between the municipalities of Comillas and San Vicente de la Barquera, specifically in the Oyambre Natural Park, this is a beach almost 2 kilometres long with fine white sand that contrasts with the extensive vegetation of the area. Would you like to know more about this beautiful beach? Then stay tuned!
The contrast of the dunes and the extensive vegetation.
Separated from the Rabia estuary by a series of dunes, Oyambre beach stands out precisely because of the contrast between the sand and the sea and the extensive vegetation of the Natural Park.
Services and lots to do
The only bad thing about this place is that, despite being isolated, it is quite busy, especially in August. Perhaps this is because, in addition to its spectacular beauty, the beach has various services: disabled access, nearby public transport, parking, telephone, campsite, kiosks, litter bins, cleaning service and two lifeguards every day from June to mid-September. Moreover, here you can practise different sports, rest, enjoy the gastronomy and nature.
The Natural Park of Oyambre
Oyambre was declared a Natural Park in 1988 thanks to its ecological value, its spectacular beauty and its excellent state of conservation. It should also be noted that a wide variety of flora and fauna and different ecosystems can be found here: beaches, marshes, forests, cliffs, dunes…
