Great atmosphere, beautiful beaches, delicious gastronomy, a placid sunny climate during most of the year… The Costa de la Luz is undoubtedly an excellent destination for your summer holidays, but which province should you choose?
Visiting any of them is a great idea, although today we want to bring you a little closer to its most Atlantic province: Huelva.
If you want to get your mouth watering with some of its beautiful coasts, don’t miss out on what we tell you below.
7 must-see sandy beaches
As far as beaches are concerned, a good selection could be the following:
– Punta UmbrĂa: It is the most popular and also the busiest of the whole province, so it has a spectacular atmosphere and an immense variety of services to choose from. In addition to the traditional leisure activities, in the area you can practice water sports such as windsurfing.
– La Antilla: This is a virgin beach of low occupation that preserves a beautiful natural aspect of fine sand and clean crystalline waters.
– Playa Castilla: It is located in the heart of the Doñana Natural Park, which means that it is a reserved rustic environment that is preserved in a perfect natural state. It is characterised by the very fine whitish sand and the medium-sized rock formations that border the beach.
– Matalascañas: A very extensive sandy beach of about 7 kilometres of whitish sand where you can find from the most rustic and quiet stretches (the area of the Doñana Park, for example) to the most urban and crowded ones where you will find a varied offer of leisure and services.
– Isla Canela: This wide and extensive beach of light golden sand is the closest to Portugal and offers a relaxed environment ideal to visit with the family.
– The Dunes: The long shore of almost 150 metres makes this beach an ideal place to visit with the children, who will have a great time playing in the water while you rest peacefully on the fine golden sand.
– La Bota: It is not very pretty but it has an excellent access and a good parking area that add up to comfort. Next to this is the beach of Mata Negra, a beach reserved for the practice of nudism.
