Although there is less and less time left before we have to say goodbye to the good temperatures, summer has not come to an end, so we may still have time to enjoy a few more days at the beach. So if the temperatures are good over the next few days and you are near the Costa Brava, don’t think twice and head for one of the beaches of Calella de Palafrugell.
Belonging to the province of Girona, this beautiful coastal town has eight spectacular beaches where you can enjoy crystal-clear waters and a unique environment. Today we’d like to tell you about some of the best. Will you join us?
El Golfet
Without a doubt, the best beach in Calella de Palafrugell is El Golfet, a sandy area located at the foot of the Cap Roig Gardens. Away from the centre of the town, the beach has coarse, golden sand and crystal-clear waters ideal for scuba diving. It is also surrounded by lush vegetation. However, if you visit El Golfet you should bear in mind that it does not have any kind of service.
Port-Bo
We would also like to tell you about Port-Bo, which has become the centre of the havaneres. In fact, every first Saturday in July for almost 50 years the cove has hosted the Cantada de Habaneras event, which recalls the relationship between the Costa Brava and Cuba in the 20th century. Like El Golfet, Port-Bo beach also has coarse golden sand and waters that are ideal for snorkelling. However, as it is located in the town centre, it has all kinds of services: deck chairs, beach umbrellas, showers, anchoring areas, restaurants, car park…
Platja d’en Calau
We would like to end our tour of the best beaches in Calella de Palafrugell at Playa d’en Calau, another urban beach located in the centre of the town. Very popular with the locals, it stands out for the lively atmosphere of the promenade.
