The Costa del Sol is not famous by chance. It is one of the most beautiful coasts in Spain, something that translates into the number of blue flags that the beaches of the province of Malaga received in 2017. In total there were 24, divided between Torrox, Algarrobo, VĂ©lez-MĂĄlaga, RincĂłn de la Victoria, BenalmĂĄdena, Mijas, Fuengirola, Marbella, Estepona and Manilva.
In this article I’ll tell you about some of these beaches so that you don’t miss them. They are one of the main attractions of a coastal destination chosen by tens of thousands of tourists from all over the world in the summer months.
Cabopino Beach (Marbella)
We begin with this beautiful beach in Marbella which is also known as Artola. It is located in a natural area full of dunes, so we could say that the environment is privileged. Its waters are not very deep and it is considered semi nudist. Many activities can be practised here and there are all kinds of services, such as a car park where you can leave your car. Also, very close by is the Torre Ladrones, an Asset of Cultural Interest of Roman origin.

Calahonda Beach (Nerja)
In the beautiful town of Nerja is the beach of Calahonda, which stands out for the turquoise colour of its waters. It is a small sandy area, barely 120 metres long, so it is not easy to lay your towel in months such as July and August. It is also worth mentioning the large, weathered rocks that surround you, which does not prevent it from being an accessible beach, even for people with reduced mobility. Burriana Beach (Nerja)
From Calahonda beach, if you walk along the Paseo de los Carabineros, you will reach Burriana beach, which is one of the beaches that every year obtains the Blue Flag without discussion. It is about 850 metres long and 40 metres wide. The sand is dark and the waves don’t usually make it difficult for bathers, who can kayak or stay on the sand to enjoy a game of beach volleyball, among other things.

Carvajal Beach (Fuengirola)
The most beautiful beach in Funegirola is Carvajal beach, which is located just before the end of the promenade. Its golden sand is very fine and its waters are usually quite clean, two characteristics that make it very crowded in the summer months. It is highly recommended for families because you can get into the water and walk quite a few metres without being covered too much.

Torre del Mar Beach (VĂ©lez-MĂĄlaga)
It is one of the longest beaches in Malaga thanks to its three kilometres in length. It is also not short in width, as there are up to 100 metres from the shore to the limits marked by its sand, which is fine and black. It is characterised by being a very family-friendly beach where you can easily relax. Torre del Mar beach boasts a Blue Flag and offers a good handful of services to bathers, who can continue their day of leisure by strolling along the promenade, where it is not difficult to find beach bars that prepare quality fried fish.
