Lanzarote is much more than sun, beach and good weather. The fact is that the Canary Island also offers culture, tourist centres, nightlife, routes and excursions, spectacular corners and landscapes… However, we have to admit that what most attracts our attention is its beautiful coastline, which has everything from wide sandy beaches to small coves. It even has some of the best beaches in Europe.
There are many beaches in Lanzarote that are worth a visit, but today we are only going to recommend five of the best. Will you join us?
Famara Beach
First of all, we would like to talk about Famara Beach, the most spectacular beach in the municipality of Teguise. The beach stretches for several kilometres until it reaches the cliff of the same name. With fine, toasted sand, the beach is ideal for water sports such as surfing, bodyboarding, kitesurfing and windsurfing.
Papagayo Beach
Another beach in Lanzarote that is well worth a visit is Papagayo, which offers two kilometres of small coves of golden sand and spectacular waters. It is very close to the tourist centre of Playa Blanca, so it is usually very popular.
Large Beach
Although unspoilt and secluded beaches are usually the most beautiful, the truth is that from time to time, we all feel like going to a beach that has all kinds of services. Well, if you are looking for such a beach in Lanzarote, you should know that Playa Grande is one of the best. Located in the tourist centre of Puerto del Carmen, it offers golden sand, calm waters and a lively promenade.
La Garita
Another beach in Lanzarote worth visiting is La Garita, located in Arrieta. It is a sandy area of one kilometre long that is protected from the strong winds of the area.
Gulf beach
Finally, we would like to talk about Playa del Golfo, which is particularly surprising because of the Laguna de los Clicos, a green lagoon at the end of the semicircle formed by the beach.
