Living in the province of Girona, just a few metres from the shores of the Costa Brava, is a real privilege. It is home to some of the best beaches on the Iberian Peninsula, authentic natural treasures that stand out not only for the cleanliness of their waters, but also for their characteristic rugged and rugged landscape.
If you want to make sure you visit some of the best beaches, I recommend you take note of the information I share below, as in my humble opinion they are simply spectacular. Shall we start?
Aiguablava Beach
The mixture of blue and green colours of its waters creates a kind of love at first sight that no one should be jealous of. Aiguablava is a small beach located in Begur which attracts more and more tourists every year, which is why you have to get up early so as not to have any problems when it comes to laying out your towel.
Montjoi Cove
Cala Montjoi is in Roses and is perfect for relaxing, as it seems to be isolated from civilisation. When entering the water you must be careful, as it is not one of those beaches that allow you to take dozens of steps before the water reaches above your waist.
Estreta cove
You should know that this beach in PalamĂłs is made of rocks and is full of pine trees. Cala Estreta is one of the most unspoilt beaches on the Costa Brava, so don’t be surprised to see people practising nudism as it is quite common.
Taballera cove
Cala Taballera is one of the most emblematic coves of Cap de Creus, which in itself is a very special place. The landscape is beautiful and the cleanliness of its waters will pleasantly surprise you. However, bear in mind that it is a beach that is difficult to access, which is why it is usually quite empty. It is in El Port de la Selva.
Illa Roja cove
We return to Begur to talk about Cala Illa Roja, one of the best beaches in Catalonia without a doubt. The most striking thing about it is the large reddish-coloured rock that stands right on the shore. You can enjoy the views from the cliff that divides this 150-metre-long beach into two parts.
