Asturias is one of the most beautiful autonomous communities in Spain. For some, it is the one that offers the most spectacular landscapes, which is not surprising if you look at the greenery that surrounds it. And don’t forget that it also has a coastline, so it’s not difficult to find incredible beaches. The ones I recommend are the ones I mention below, which, as you can see, have nothing to do with the typical beaches of a big city or crowded coastal areas.
Playa del Silencio (Cudillero).
In Cudillero you can enjoy a beach that I love for its virgin and wild character. It is an ideal spot to disconnect, a 510-metre long sandy beach that will surprise you no matter where you look at it, as there are several islets on the shore and the rest is vegetation.
To get to the beach of El Silencio you will have to go through the village of Castañeras and go down a fairly steep dirt road. If you are passionate about scuba diving, I recommend you to go well equipped, as it is a perfect place to practice it.

Poo Beach (Llanes)
This is a very curious beach, as the shore is in an inlet that prevents you from accessing the open sea. You feel surrounded by beautiful meadows and enjoy a unique swim in its crystal-clear waters. Moreover, its peculiar location makes it ideal to go with children, as it is not dangerous at all.

Torimbia Beach
Think about it carefully because you can only get there on foot. It is quite lost, but I have to say that it is worth a visit. You will see green mountains, turquoise water and white sand. It is a natural beach like few others that has the advantage of not being crowded even in the summer months. This means that you can concentrate on the sound of the waves without being disturbed.

Beach of Vega (Ribadesella)
It is another virgin beach that allows you to put your mind at rest. It is three kilometres long and is not the most recommendable beach to go with children, as the waves tend to be rough. To get there, take the exit from the village of Barredo on the N-632 towards Villaviciosa.

Aguilar Beach (Muros de NalĂłn)
It’s no wonder that this 650-metre-long sandy beach is the favourite of many Asturian surfing enthusiasts. The waves roll in with force and show us all the beauty of one of the beaches that formed part of the list of those awarded the Blue Flag in 2017. It has a car park and is also easily accessible for the disabled.

Peñarronda Beach (Tapia de Casariego)
Between Castropol and Tapia de Casariego you can enjoy this beach of dunes that was declared a Natural Monument in 2002. It is about 400 metres long and is bounded by two cliffs, one on each side. Like the beach of Aguilar, it was also awarded the Blue Flag last year.
