Tenerife, like any self-respecting island, is a sun and beach destination that attracts thousands of people summer after summer. It is true that its beaches have nothing to do with those of the Caribbean or the Balearic Islands, but there is no denying that they also have a special charm due to the environment in which they are located.
The most popular of them all are the ones I mention below, so take note if you want to take a dip in sandy beaches that will leave you with a good taste in your mouth.
Fañabé
The fact that it does not appear on the list of Blue Flag beaches in 2018 does not mean that its waters are no longer crystal clear. In Fañabé, which is in the municipality of Adeje, you can enjoy a very comforting swim and do all kinds of water sports, as well as having the chance to stroll along its promenade, which is full of shops and restaurants. For this reason, and because the waves are calm, it is a beach that is highly recommended for children.
El Duque
It is a rather small beach because it is 390 metres long and 60 metres wide, but despite this you will have no problem laying your towel. There is parking, restaurants, sun loungers and parasols, showers, changing rooms… All of this with the Blue Flag in the background and with a sun that never fails to shine as it does on the rest of the Costa Adeje.
La Tejita
One kilometre long is plenty of space. You can walk from side to side and enjoy a relaxing stroll along the shore, or you can go surfing, windsurfing, bodyboarding, paddleboarding or kitesurfing. All this in El Médano, in Granadilla de Abona, with the special nature reserve of Montaña Roja inviting you to discover the volcanic beauty of the place.

Las Teresitas
Everyone knows that Las Teresitas is probably the most popular beach in Tenerife, which is not surprising considering that it is one of the few golden sandy beaches to be found in Tenerife. It is in the town of San Andrés and has moderate waves, which is why it is common to see many families with children. It is also equipped with all kinds of services and measures 1,300 metres long and 80 metres wide.

El Bollullo Beach
In El RincĂłn, La Orotava, we find this small corner, 200 metres long and 40 metres wide, with black sand that blends in with the volcanic formations. As it is a beach with lots of waves, it is normal for surfing enthusiasts to come here looking for a good day out. However, access is limited.

The Views
This other Blue Flag beach is in Arona, very close to the town of Los Cristianos. It is one of the most touristy for the simple fact that it is surrounded by hotels and flats, and also because it has golden sand and beach volleyball courts. It is about 850 metres long and 80 metres wide and is usually quite crowded in July and August.
