The best spanish beaches to visit by train

Barceloneta
When it comes to enjoying beaches, it is clear that in Spain we have no problem whatsoever thanks to the thousands of kilometres of coastline that are bathed by both the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The fact is that some of these beaches can be easily enjoyed thanks to a train journey like the ones you’ll find on Omio, a highly recommended online platform for this purpose.

Here we are going to tell you about some of the best beaches that you can visit after taking the AVE to get to the shore in a very short time. Would you like to get to know them?

La Malvarrosa (Valencia)

La Malvarrosa beach, in Valencia, has everything you need to enjoy a fantastic day at the beach with friends or family. There is a wide range of outdoor activities on offer, with crossfit, fitness classes, surfing, canoeing, diving, snorkelling… All of this while you enjoy its wide, fine golden sand. In addition, there is no shortage of stalls selling refreshments and food so you don’t have to worry about the time. And of course, there is also a sun lounger and parasol service for maximum relaxation.

Fonda Cove (Tarragona)

Of the trains that run along the coast to Tarragona, it is worth paying attention to the stop that takes you to Cala Fonda. This is a hidden paradise between cliffs that is known as Waikiki, referring to the famous Hawaiian beach that you are sure to have heard of on more than one occasion. It’s about 6 kilometres north of Tarragona and it’s quite a long walk to get to the shore. However, we can guarantee that the effort is worth it, because both the waters and the views are spectacular.

El Palo (Malaga)

The historian VĂctor Heredia tells us that on the way to VĂ©lez-MĂĄlaga, there was a “ventorrillo de el Palo” which gave its name to this beautiful beach on the Costa del Sol. It has a length of 1,200 metres and a width of 25 metres, so there is usually no problem to find a spot on this sandy beach, which is surprising for the fishing boats that can be seen in the area.

La Barceloneta (Barcelona)

The train can also take you to Barcelona, where there are very popular beaches such as La Barceloneta. It is the oldest and most famous of all the city’s beaches, and it must be said that it underwent a major refurbishment just before the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. It is 1,100 metres long, making it one of the longest in the country. It has all kinds of facilities for sports such as beach volleyball, and there are also restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy a good bite to eat just a few metres from the shore.
