Tenerife is undoubtedly one of the best sun and beach destinations in our country, not only because it offers tourists a beautiful landscape that contrasts the best coasts with the most abrupt volcanic nature, but also because it is easy to enjoy a placid climate practically all year round.
If you have chosen the island of Teide as your next holiday destination, take note of some of the following beaches and create your own route around the area, because we’ll tell you which ones are the best!
1. Las Gaviotas: A beautiful black sand beach where the vegetation and the imposing cliffs face the clean waters where a swim will be a real pleasure. This black sand beach stretches for about 300 metres and is ideal for a quiet day to simply relax on the sand or play with your paddles or ball.
2. Benijo: Unlike the previous one, the surroundings of this beautiful beach are greener and denser, maintaining the cliffs and rocks characteristic of the island. Although in winter it is practically non-existent and dangerous, in summer it is possible to enjoy this dark sandy beach to relax during the day and wait for the beautiful sunset… Don’t miss it!
3. Bollullo: It is located in La Orotava and is a practically unspoilt cove with few services, although it is quite busy. It has about 400 metres of black sand with a somewhat wild appearance and is quite close to the popular town of Puerto de la Cruz.
4. La Tejita: Beautiful beach of golden sand that stretches for about 3 kilometres offering a perfect environment for relaxing on the fine sand and for practising water sports such as windsurfing or canoeing.
5. Las Vistas: It is a rather more urban beach than the rest of the previous ones, with a very good tourist infrastructure with a multitude of bars, restaurants, hotels and shops for you to enjoy the traditional ‘made in spain’ sun and beach holidays.
Other beaches not to be missed are Playa Blanca, Las Teresitas, La Arena and Las Américas beach.
