Are you already planning your summer holidays? Well, if this year you fancy enjoying a lively atmosphere and beautiful beaches without having to leave Spain, Salou could be a fantastic option. Considered one of the main tourist centres on the Costa Dorada, it offers an extensive coastline, a long promenade and beautiful surroundings. Also, don’t forget that close to the city is the Port Aventura theme park.
If you finally decide to spend your holidays in Salou, you’d better find out which are its best beaches and coves. Today we’ll show you some of them. Will you join us?
Levante Beach
As it could not be otherwise, let’s start by talking about Playa de Levante (Platja de Llevant), Salou’s main beach. Along its 1,200 metres you will find a large number of services, all of them of high quality: sun loungers, parasols, showers, beach bars, children’s areas… Moreover, here you can practise all kinds of water sports.
Long Beach
A short distance from the centre of Salou is Playa Larga (Platja Llarga), a 600-metre-long sandy beach surrounded by pine forests. You should also know that the beach has a pedestrian promenade. However, it is not as crowded as others.
Llenguadets Cove
As well as beaches, Salou also has some interesting coves. One of the best known is Cala Lenguadets, which is very close to the centre. It stands out for its easy access and its crystal-clear waters, in which it is worth snorkelling. It also has all kinds of services.
Penya Tallada Cove
Finally, we would like to talk about Cala Penya Tallada, a small beach just 60 metres long located at the Cape of Salou. Access is a bit complicated, it has no services, but it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the city. It is surrounded by rocky cliffs covered with vegetation and offers crystal-clear waters.
