The three small western islands of the Canary Islands stand out not only for their green landscapes, but also for their beaches, which you can enjoy all year round. La Gomera, for example, has 90 kilometres of coastline, where you’ll find numerous coves and sandy beaches set among spectacular cliffs with crystal-clear waters. Most of them are black sand or callao, but there are also some with white sand.
Today we’re taking you to the island of La Gomera to discover some of its best beaches. Will you join us?
Playa del Inglés Beach
First of all, we would like to talk about Playa del Inglés, which is located in Valle del Rey. It is a beautiful beach of black sand that remains almost untouched. Situated under the immense cliff of La Merca, the beach is surrounded by dunes. It is important to bear in mind that this is a place frequented by nudists.
Beach of San Sebastián
We would also like to talk about the beaches of San Sebastián de La Gomera, which are very different from each other, although all of them are worth a visit. Many of them are virgin and some are considered nudist beaches. This is the case of Playa del Cabrito, La Guancha, La Roja and El Guincho.
Ávalo Beach
Ávalo Beach, located to the north of San Sebastián de la Gomera, deserves a special mention. It is a beach that combines medium-grained black sand with callao and gravel. You should also know that it is home to one of the most beautiful palm groves on the island.
La Caleta Beach
Finally, we would like to mention the Caleta de Hermigua beach, which offers very good conditions for bathing. It also has black sand and pebbles and very calm waters thanks to the fact that it is located in a cove sheltered from the currents.
