The best coves on the costa brava

Cala-Estreta
Have you had the chance to visit the Costa Brava? We are referring to the coastline that stretches along the north of Catalonia, from Blanes to the French border, in other words, the coastline corresponding to the province of Girona. In addition to sunshine, charming fishing villages and an excellent tourist infrastructure, here you will find beautiful coves hidden among lush vegetation and crystal-clear waters.

Although it is difficult to make a selection of the best coves on the Costa Brava, here are five of our favourites. Would you like to join us?

Estreta Cove

Cala-Estreta1First of all, we would like to talk about Cala Estreta, which is located in PalamĂłs, in a totally natural environment, where there is not a single building. As its name indicates, it is a narrow cove, which is divided in two by a rocky outcrop.

Pola Cove

Cala-PolaFrom PalamĂłs we move on to Tossa de Mar to tell you about Cala Pola, a beautiful and lively cove. As many of the bathers come from the campsite next to the beach, this is a very family-oriented spot. It also offers very good services.

Aiguablava beach

AiguablavaAiguablava, the last beach south of Begur, could not be missing from our list. It is a cove of fine golden sand with shallow waters of a beautiful blue colour. The cove not only has good services, but also offers magnificent views.

Illa Roja cove

Cala-Illa-RojaIn Begur we would also like to highlight Cala Illa Roja, which is characterised by the large reddish rock that presides over it. It is also important to bear in mind that it is one of the most internationally renowned nudist beaches.

Senyor RamĂłn Cove

Cala-del-Senyor-RamonFinally, we would like to talk about Cala del Senyor RamĂłn, which is located in Santa Cristina d’Aro. If there is one thing that makes this cove stand out, it is its turquoise blue waters and its impressive underwater seabed.
