In the southernmost part of the province of Girona we find Blanes, a town with four kilometres of coastline, where you can find rocky cliffs and quiet coves.
Today we are taking you to this tourist town on the Costa Brava to discover some of its most beautiful coves. Would you like to join us? We assure you that you won’t regret it!
San Francesc Cove
We would like to begin by talking about Cala Sant Francesc, also known as Cala Bona, which is located on the outskirts of Blanes. Year after year it has been awarded the blue flag thanks to its excellent services and the quality of its waters. With golden sand, this beach surprises with its beautiful scenery.
Here you will find all kinds of services and facilities, such as a Red Cross post, a beach bar, showers or skate and deckchair hire. It is therefore ideal for a family visit. On the other hand, you should know that it is an ideal cove for snorkelling.
Treumal cove
We would also like to talk about Cala Treumal, which is actually located between Blanes and Lloret de Mar, in a natural setting formed by a pine forest. This cove is separated from Santa Cristina by a large rock.
Accessible by a well-conditioned path, the cove has a paradisiacal appearance. Don’t expect to find a virgin spot, though, as it has good facilities, including a restaurant, which bears the name of the cove.
Sa Forcanera cove
Finally, we would like to talk about Cala Sa Forcanera, a small cove that is only accessible from the sea, since by land you have to cross private land. For this reason, this place is not usually very crowded.
Although the setting is truly paradisiacal, it is important to bear in mind that its surface is rocky, so if your aim is to sunbathe comfortably, it would be better to go to the two coves mentioned above.
