Since Franco’s regime came to an end, nudism has become a real tradition on many Catalan beaches. In fact, along the coastline of this autonomous community there are more than 50 beaches with a nudist tradition. The best thing is that there is something for everyone: from isolated and wild to urban and full of services.
Today on this website we want to talk to you about some of the best nudist beaches you can find on the Catalan coast. Would you like to join us?
Illa Roja cove
First of all, we would like to talk about the Illa Roja cove, one of the most photographed landscapes on the Costa Brava. Located in Begur, it is surprising for the large rock that presides over it and gives it its name. Here you won’t find any services, but you can enjoy crystal-clear waters, golden sand and plenty of peace and quiet.
Sa Boadella Cove
We continue on the Costa Brava to tell you about Sa Boadella cove, which is located between Santa Cristina cove and Punta d’en Sureda, in Lloret de Mar. It is a long, narrow beach divided into small coves. It is important to bear in mind that the ones with a nudist tradition are the furthest from the entrance.
The Torn
From the Costa Brava we move on to the Costa Dorada to tell you about El Torn, a beach that forms part of a protected natural area. It is home to one of the two naturist campsites in Catalonia.
Fonda Cove
Also on the coast of Tarragona is Cala Fonda, a cove located in an area declared to be of natural interest. For this reason, you won’t find any kind of service here. As it is isolated, you can enjoy the peace and quiet here even in high season.
La Mar Bella
Let’s finish by talking about a beach in Barcelona. Believe it or not, the province also has nudist beaches, most of them urban. The Mar Bella stands out, a sandy area that is very popular with tourists and the gay community.
