We want to start the week by discovering a beautiful beach in the north of Spain. Would you like to join us? We are talking about Arrietara, which is located in the municipality of Sopelana (Vizcaya).
Located next to Atxabiribil beach (they are sometimes considered as a single beach), it offers dark golden sand and ideal conditions for water sports, especially surfing. Would you like to find out more about this wonderful beach in the Basque Country? Well, now you know what you have to do! Don’t miss anything we tell you below!
Considered as a single beach
The beaches of Arrietara and Atxabiribil share sand, without any kind of limitation between them when the tide is low. That is why, as we mentioned before, they are often considered to be a single beach. As you can see for yourself by taking a look at the images in our gallery, both are protected by cliffs, offering a beautiful landscape.
Ideal for surfing
If you like surfing or other water sports, Arrietara is the beach for you, as it offers fantastic conditions for this type of activity. In fact, important sporting events related to surfing take place here. Furthermore, in the area you can find different clubs and schools dedicated to this sport, which is becoming more and more popular.
Well-equipped beaches
Atxabiribil beach, also known as El Peñón, is an area where the waves break on the rocks. Both beaches are well equipped and are magnificent places to watch the sunset. However, in high season they tend to be quite crowded, so you’ll need to go early if you want to find a good spot to spread out your towel. Here is our gallery, where you will find more images of Arrietara beach, so don’t miss it!
