The 5 most recommended beaches of tarragona

orilla-de-la-playa-Tarragona
Tarragona and its famous Costa Dorada have earned the respect of all those who have ever spent a summer in Catalonia. Although it is true that the Costa Brava gets more compliments for its rocky landscape full of vegetation, it should not be forgotten that in the southern part of the autonomous community there are also spectacular beaches.

To prove it to you, I have compiled a list of 5 beaches that in my opinion are the most beautiful in Tarragona.

Tamarit cove (Altafulla)

cala-de-TamaritThe cove of Tamarit is not easily accessible. To get there you have to park in a nearby housing development, and then start a walk through the forest to go down some rocks that are the prelude to a great day of sun and beach. It is no more than 50 metres long and it is rarely difficult to lay your towel, probably because it is not as accessible as other beaches. There are no showers or beach bars either, so you have to go there prepared and with the aim of disconnecting.

Romana Cove (Tarragona)

Cala-RomanaIn Tarragona city is Cala Romana, a place that combines beach and mountain to the delight of those who have had the opportunity to be there. The landscape that surrounds it is beautiful and the tranquillity that one breathes is not found in other beaches in the city. It is so beautiful that it has even appeared in some scenes of the latest Estrella Damm short film. The only negative points are the parking (it is very difficult to find a space) and the fact that there is only one toilet, which is located in the parking area.

Platja de la Llosa (Cambrils)

platja-de-la-llosaThis beach in Cambrils is one of the most beautiful in the whole province of Tarragona without a doubt. It is very quiet and ideal to go with the family. In addition, it has a very generous extension of fine sand that allows you to enjoy a pleasant walk along the shore starting from the port of Cambrils. It has all the necessary services and a promenade that invites you to walk, run or cycle.

Platja del Torn beach (VandellĂČs i l’Hospitalet de l’Infant)

platja-del-tornThis was one of the first beaches on the island to declare itself a nudist beach. Its setting is privileged, as it is protected by a forest of Mediterranean pine trees that make their presence felt. The sand is fine and golden, which is also appreciated. It is part of the Rojala-Platja del Torn protected area, which includes the Llop MarĂ cave, located on one of the islets at one end of the beach.

Platja dels Muntanyans beach (Torredembarra)

Platja-dels-MuntanyansIn a town as touristy as Torredembarra you can enjoy Platja del Muntanyans, which is about two kilometres long and also forms part of a protected area. Its dunes, together with the typical Mediterranean vegetation, make it more spectacular than most beaches in Tarragona. Moreover, nudism can be practised here and relaxation is guaranteed, as it is not one of those beaches that tourists flock to en masse.
