Unfortunately, at this time of the year we cannot enjoy the beautiful coastline of our country, at least not in the way we would like to, which is to take a refreshing dip, sunbathe and drink something cool at the beach bar. However, on this website, we are not afraid to discover the beautiful sandy beaches of our coasts.
Today, for example, we are taking you to the Basque Country, and more specifically to San SebastiĂĄn (GuipĂșzcoa), to discover La Zurriola beach. Would you like to join us? We assure you that you won’t regret it!
A beach open to the sea
The beach of La Zurriola is located in the district of Gros, to the east of the mouth of the Urumea River. The beach is about 800 metres long and 100 metres wide. As you can see in the pictures, it is a sandy beach and is quite open to the sea, so it has strong waves. For this reason, it is often frequented by surfers.
A beach full of young people and surfers.
As we were saying, the beach is usually full of surfers. In fact, it has been a meeting point for surfing enthusiasts since it was remodelled in 1994. But beyond surfing, the beach is usually full of young people, so it is normal for football, volleyball and paddleball matches to take place…
All kinds of services
As it is an urban beach, it offers all kinds of services, such as showers, nearby car parks, beach umbrella and sunshade rental, collective cabins, lifeguard and lifeguard services and access walkways. Surfing, bodyboarding and swimming courses are also available on the beach itself. Here we leave you with our gallery, where you will find more images of La Zurriola beach. Don’t miss it!
