Would you like to discover this Cantabrian beach in more depth? Well, now you know what you have to do! Don’t miss any of what we tell you below!
Next to the Ermita de la Virgen del Mar (Chapel of the Virgin of the Sea)
The Virgen del Mar beach is an isolated sandy area located in a rocky environment, right next to the Emita de la Virgen del Mar, patron saint of the city. This is why the beach has acquired this name. The religious building is situated on an island that is connected to the mainland by a footbridge.
A beautiful and peaceful enclave
As you can imagine from the images in the gallery, this is a beautiful and peaceful enclave, made up of a sandy beach and small coves. Apart from being an ideal place for sunbathing and swimming, it is also a perfect spot for practising some water sports, especially fishing.
Scarce facilities
On the other hand, it is important to bear in mind that there are very few facilities on offer. What there is, however, is a lifeguard and life-saving equipment. However, in principle, the beach does not present too many risks, as the waves are rather moderate. We leave you with our gallery below, where you will find more images of this beautiful beach located in Santander. Don’t miss it!
