What do you think if we finish the week talking about one of the most beautiful coastal spots in Spain? Great, isn’t it? Well, let’s go for it!
Today we are going to Navia, a council in the autonomous region of the Principality of Asturias that is well worth a visit. Among other attractions, this area boasts spectacular landscapes and some very charming beaches. Would you like to get to know Navia in more depth? Well, don’t miss out on what we’re going to tell you below! I assure you that you’ll love this area in the north of the peninsula!
A relatively small coastline
Navia has twelve kilometres of coastline bathed, as you know, by the Cantabrian Sea. Many would say that it is a small coastline, but the council has 6 important beaches and other coves that, although quite small, have an important ecological and tourist value.
A coastline of cliffs
The coast of Navia is characterised by its cliffs, which are generally of medium height. As for the beaches, they are of coarse sand due to the presence of slate.
The most important beaches
The most important beaches in Navia are Frejulfe Beach, Barayo Beach, Moro Beach, Navia Beach, Coedo Beach and Fabal Beach. The first of these has been declared a natural monument and is the largest in the area, some 800 metres long. Barayo Beach is also particularly noteworthy, as it is one of the wildest beaches in Asturias. This is the start of the Navia Coastal Path, a 21-kilometre route along which you will be able to contemplate some beautiful landscapes.
