The northern beach of peniscola in the community of valencia

With beautiful views and a wide range of leisure activities, Playa Norte is the main beach in the whole of Peñíscola, a beautiful town in the province of Castellón (Valencian Community).

This is the central beach, located in the old town and at the foot of the rock on which the mythical Castillo del Papa Luna, a great symbol of the town, is located.

Five kilometres long and 44 metres wide, this golden sandy beach is one of the main attractions of Peñíscola, where thousands of holidaymakers come every year in search of the mild Mediterranean climate to get a tan and the great atmosphere of the Spanish coastline to enjoy themselves. Its calm waters are an ideal place to enjoy sailing or renting canoes, water skates or jet skis with family or friends.

Therefore, of all the beaches in the town, the North beach stands out as the most cosmopolitan, with a high degree of occupation in the central summer months and with a very good offer of hotels, flats or rural houses, as well as restaurants, bars and small shops on its beautiful promenade.

The environmental and hygienic quality of this beach has led to it being awarded the ‘Blue Flag’ by the European Union, a distinction that many others cannot boast, as well as the ‘Q’ flag of the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality, the ‘Green Flag’ of AENOR certification and the ‘Qualitur’ flag of the ‘Agencia Valenciana de Turisme’.

As if this were not enough, Peñíscola is a place with a lot of history, which in addition to many other beaches to enjoy offers you a cultural environment in which you can visit places like the Castle of Papa Luna, a fortress built by the Templars in the 13th century and residence of Benedict XIII (the ‘Papa Luna’) and extensive routes and paths that will take you to other monumental areas of the city.
