From the north of Europe, where yesterday we met the beach of Falsterbo, we move to our Canary Islands which, completely surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, hide some of the most beautiful beaches in the country, and you can find them of all types: black, reddish, white, with natural pools…
Today we want to tell you about one of the best beaches in the whole archipelago. We are referring to Playa del Golfo, located in the south of Lanzarote. Would you like to discover it? Well, don’t miss out on what we are going to tell you next!
Perfect for relaxing and sunbathing
Of volcanic origin, this beach in Lanzarote looks like something out of a fairy tale. As you can see for yourself in the images in the gallery, it is a black beach formed by pebbles, perfect for relaxing and sunbathing. And although it may be tempting to take a dip, it is true that the sea can be somewhat dangerous due to the currents.
Los Clicos Lagoon
Undoubtedly, what will impress you most about the beach will be the lagoon at the bottom of the semicircle formed by the sandy area, as it is green in colour, contrasting with the blackness of the surroundings. We are referring to the lagoon known as Laguna de los Clicos which, as you might have guessed, has this colour due to the algae that live there. However, you cannot swim in the lake, as it has been declared a Nature Reserve.
Very close to El Golfo
Very close to the beach is El Golfo, a village where you can enjoy restaurants and bars by the sea. Below is our gallery, where you’ll find more images of this beautiful Canarian beach, so don’t miss it!
