Cantabria is one of the Spanish regions that offers us the most beautiful landscapes, and in addition to incredible natural landscapes of intense green, it also offers incredible beaches where you can enjoy the best relaxation accompanied, if you want, by a good range of sporting activities.
Somo beach is one of them. Located in the small tourist town of the same name, this beach stretches over two kilometres long and 80 kilometres wide so that you won’t have any difficulties when it comes to spreading out your towel, even during the busiest times of the year.
This huge coastline has very fine golden sand on which to lie down and enjoy the sun and the cool summer breeze will be a pleasure, especially knowing that when you find yourself overwhelmed, the Atlantic is waiting for you to take a refreshing dip… But be careful, because the waters are not exactly calm!
In fact, this is precisely why many surf lovers choose Somo as a holiday destination, as its strong waves make it ideal for surfing. However, if you want to enjoy other more peaceful water activities such as diving or snorkelling, you’d better look for another destination?
In the more touristy sense, this beach in RibamontĂĄn al Mar is bordered by a long promenade where you will find a good range of restaurants, shops and a wide variety of services to satisfy all your needs.
And if you feel like visiting Santander, the most popular town in Cantabria, you can rest assured, because it is only a few kilometres away from Somo. In fact, you may even be able to see the bay from the beach itself…
