Linked to the beautiful Serantes beach, Mexota is a haven of peace located in the western part of Asturias, one of the most beautiful regions of Spain by far.
Traditionally it has been a nudist beach, but nowadays it is not difficult to find people enjoying its waters with their swimming costumes on.
Access on foot
You can get there on foot along a path from Villamil or from the town of Serantes. You will have to walk a little to witness its natural charm, which explains why it is a perfect beach for relaxing. Even in the hottest months of the year it is not crowded.
A very large rock
What strikes me most about Mexota beach is the islet that divides it into two practically identical parts. It is located right in the middle, between the cliffs that rise up on both sides to give it an extra intimacy that is always appreciated. It’s a beautiful sight, so it’s well worth a visit to see it for yourself.
You may be interested to know that…
You should know that it is just over 200 metres long, has white sand, crystal-clear waters and is perfect for both diving and fishing. In addition, at low tide (April), World Surfing Championship events have been held in Tapia de Casariego, which is the village six kilometres from Mexota beach. This is because it is a beach where the wind usually blows strongly.
