The beach of el sombrerico in mojacar a movie scene

El Sombrerico Andalucia
After getting to know the best beaches in Cádiz, today we want to continue in Andalusia, as this community offers numerous beaches that are worth visiting, such as those found in Mojácar, a town located about 90 kilometres from Almería, which has the peculiar characteristic of having the beach very close to the mountain.

Among the many beaches that can be found in Mojácar, today we want to highlight the beach of El Sombrerico, which has been used as a set for many films. Do you want to know more details about this beautiful beach? Then don’t miss anything we tell you below!

Film set

If you have the opportunity to visit this beach you will realise that it is a special place. That’s why many directors have chosen it to film some scenes. This is the case of Orson Welles, who decided to film some scenes of “Treasure Island” (1972) here.

El Sombrerico Andalucia

A beach with few services

Away from urban centres and with a low level of occupation, El Sombrerico beach is 600 metres long and 15 metres wide. Made up of sand and gravel, it boasts a fairly calm sea. However, you should bear in mind that the only service you will find here will be the cleaning service, although it is true that you can get here either on foot or by car.

A nudist beach

We don’t want to finish without mentioning that, since the summer of 2012, this beach is compatible with textile and nudist use thanks to a municipal ordinance. Therefore, it is not unusual to find people wearing swimming costumes and nudity in the same area. We leave you with our gallery below, where you will find more images of El Sombrerico beach, so don’t miss it!
