Despite the fact that the cold weather is getting colder and colder, we still feel like getting to know the best beaches in Spain. Since it won’t be long before we can take a dip or relax in the sun on the sand, we can at least start thinking about our next summer holiday destination.
After discovering two spectacular beaches in northern Spain (Castro de Baroña beach and Covachos beach), today we are going to visit a very different but equally surprising place: Aiguablava beach in Begur. It is a beautiful beach set amidst lush vegetation forming a small bay that is often frequented by pleasure boats. Would you like to join us?
A privileged environment
Aiguablava is the last beach belonging to Begur and, like most of the coves in this beautiful town, it has crystal-clear, shallow waters, fine, clear sand and an almost virgin natural environment that has hardly been developed.
A beach with a lot of privacy
As you can see in the pictures, it is surrounded by a mountain, called ses Falugues, and a cliff of great beauty known as La Cabeza de Begur. This, added to its infinitely coloured water and its shallow depth, makes it an intimate and very welcoming spot for all kinds of bathers, especially for those who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of urban beaches.
Access and services
The best thing is that access to this beach is quite easy, as it can be reached on foot, by car (the beach has a guarded car park) and even by public transport. It also has all the necessary services to make your stay as pleasant as possible: toilets, showers, litter bins, telephone, cleaning and security service and rental of umbrellas, deckchairs and water sports equipment. Of course, in the surrounding area you will find bars, restaurants and some shops to meet your needs.
