The central beach in isla cristina

Andalusian beaches are famous for their beauty, both at home and abroad. These large sandy beaches have everything you need to enjoy the sun and the sea: golden sand, large stretches of sand, natural landscapes full of beauty, clean waters and temperatures that remain warm for many months.

The municipality of Isla Cristina (Huelva) is a privileged place in this sense, as it has fantastic beaches and a natural spot of great interest: the Isla Cristina Marshes. The Central Beach is undoubtedly the best known and busiest of the place.

Next to the town… And in nature

This beautiful beach is two kilometres long, with a total width of 70 metres. It is an urban beach, which means that it is located next to the town centre and can be easily reached from your hotel or flat. But far from being the classic crowded or polluted beach, the Central Beach has fantastic dunes and autochthonous vegetation that make it a beautiful and very well preserved sandy area. This, without renouncing elements such as showers, access for the disabled, the promenade or the sailing school.

Harbours and marshes

In other words, Isla Cristina’s Central Beach has practically everything. At one end of this stretch of sand you will find the fishing port and the marina, perfect places for a pleasant stroll after a day in the sun. At the western end we find the Parque Natural de las Marismas de Isla Cristina, which the municipality shares with neighbouring Ayamonte and which covers an area of 2145 hectares. A beautiful natural pine grove marks the boundary of the beach, making it a haven of nature with all the comforts of “civilisation”.
