The unforgettable cala macarelleta cove in menorca

If you have never had the opportunity to visit Menorca, this website would advise you to do so, and even urge you to do so. It is a place like no other where you can enjoy some of the best beaches in the world. You don’t need to go to the other side of the world to be able to contemplate wonderful landscapes and coves that you will never forget.

One of them is Cala Macarelleta, the little sister of Cala Macarella and located in the same bay, with turquoise blue waters that invite you to take an incredibly relaxing swim, and fine white sand, ideal for sunbathing in the Mediterranean sun. It is also one of the most nudist beaches in Menorca, although it is not totally nudist.

A beautiful enclave

This virgin and isolated beach is located on the eastern margin of the sea that gives way to the nearby Cala Macarella and is flanked by the high cliff slopes of the adjoining promontories, covered with leafy pine forests, which make up the Àrea Natural d’Especial Interès de la costa sur de Ciutadella (Natural Area of Special Interest of the southern coast of Ciutadella).

How to get to Cala Macarelleta?

As far as road access is concerned, it is quite easy to reach Cala Macarella. However, the next 1.45 kilometres you will have to walk along a path. On the other hand, unlike Macarella, there are no services or restaurants in Cala Macarelleta, so it is essential that you don’t forget to bring water and food.

However, Cala Macarelleta has a small problem and that is that, since an Estrella Damm advertisement was filmed there, the beach has become very crowded. In fact, there used to be a system of rising dunes that is now in clear decline due to the large number of people camping on the beach.
