The climate, the richness and the natural environment make the Canary Islands a unique and spectacular destination. And although in this archipelago you can enjoy pleasant temperatures all year round, many of us on the mainland have to take advantage of our summer holidays to visit this magnificent place.
One of the islands that you can’t miss the opportunity to visit is Tenerife, which, among other things, has such spectacular beaches as Taganana. Would you like us to explain why? That’s done!
Incredible contrasts
In Guanche, Taganana means “surrounded by mountains”, so as its name suggests, this beach is surrounded by enormous rocks, specifically the Anaga massif, one of the oldest in the whole of Tenerife. But beyond these massifs, what is most surprising is the contrast between the greenness of the terrain and its blue waters and dark sand.
An ideal beach for water sports
The beaches of Taganana are also famous for their strong waves, which make this area a must for lovers of surfing and other water sports, such as kite surfing and body boarding. Furthermore, if you are lucky enough to be able to visit the area, you can’t miss the huge rock that can be visited via a walkway that runs around it. From here you can enjoy spectacular views.
A magical place
Taganana is a magical place, where you’ll find unspoilt beaches such as Roque de las Bodegas and Benijo. Be warned, however, that there are some areas that are difficult to access, so you’ll have to take extreme precautions. We leave you with our gallery, where you can find some photographs of this unique natural space. Don’t miss it!
