Although one of our main objectives when visiting beaches is to enjoy a pleasant dip in the sea, the truth is that there are sandy beaches where just contemplating the scenery is worthwhile. This is the case of Punta del Fangar beach, a beautiful spot that you can enjoy at any time of the year.
Located in the municipality of Deltebre, in the Baix Ebre region (Tarragona), it is considered to be the only desert in Catalonia. Would you like to find out more about this beach? Then you can’t miss what we are going to tell you next!
Fangar Point
Punta del Fangar is actually a peninsula of about 410 hectares where different natural environments can be found, such as mobile dunes, fixed dunes, a bay and a beach. It is important to take into account that, in addition, some days it is possible to contemplate real mirages in the place. For all these reasons, it is a tremendously beautiful and special place.
A super quiet beach
This isolated beach, which, as you can see for yourself in the gallery, has no promenade or almost no services, is made up of golden sand and usually offers calm waters. And don’t think that the only thing that is calm is the sea! This beach is not usually very busy, so the peace you can breathe here is absolute. On the other hand, it is important to bear in mind that this is a nudist beach.
The lighthouse
The lighthouse, a beautiful luminous tower that keeps telling ships how close they are to the coast, deserves a special mention. With a height of 20 metres and a diameter of 3 metres, this lighthouse was built in 1972 and is considered one of the landscape and architectural symbols of the Ebro Lands. Here is our gallery, where you can find more images of this marvellous spot in the province of Tarragona. Don’t miss it!
