Cantabria, a region that forms part of what we call Green Spain, has a lot to offer the traveller: surprising nature, good gastronomy, unique artistic displays, prehistoric caves and charming towns such as San Vicente de la Barquera, an old fishermen’s refuge that represents one of the most picturesque images of the Cantabrian coast.
Undoubtedly, one of the main attractions of San Vicente de la Barquera is its coastline, which offers beautiful beaches. Today we would like to tell you about the Tostadero beach, a semi-urban sandy area located at the entrance to the town, next to its famous bridge. Would you like to discover it? Well, all you have to do is come with us!
Ideal for water sports
El Tostadero is one of the busiest beaches in San Vicente de la Barquera. It is 500 metres from the mace and is characterised by the presence of dunes. With fine white sand, this 360-metre-long sandy beach is ideal for sunbathing and a refreshing swim, as it is not directly open to the sea and does not have a lot of waves. Even so, you will have to be careful.
It is also a good place to practise different water sports: windsurfing, canoeing, sailing, water skiing…
A beach with all kinds of facilities
It is important to bear in mind that this beach has a parking area and access for people with reduced mobility. In addition, you should know that it has all kinds of amenities and some leisure facilities nearby. Perhaps for this reason, it is one of the most popular beaches in San Vicente de la Barquera.
