Now that the weather is starting to get bad on the mainland, many people are starting to plan getaways to destinations with good temperatures. The Canary Islands are undoubtedly a great option for this purpose. Of all the islands, Fuerteventura may be the one with the best beaches. In fact, its coastal offerings have little to envy those images of the Caribbean that we all think of when it comes to paradisiacal beaches.
Among many other beautiful places, in Fuerteventura you can visit the islet of Lobos, accessible by boat from the port of Corralejo. Here you will find two bathing areas: La Concha beach and El Puertito. Today we are going to talk to you about the second of these. Will you join us?
A natural swimming pool
El Puertito is a beautiful spot which, as well as being a place for boats to moor, forms a natural swimming pool where you can enjoy playing or swimming in the warm water or contemplating the sea while sitting in the sun. Of course, you can also go snorkelling or scuba diving, as the beach has the clearest waters of all the Canary Islands.
A small residential area
In reality, El Puertito is a small urbanisation made up of a few small houses and a pretty jetty where the boats stay on the sand at low tide. In addition, you should know that during the summer there is a restaurant that caters for all the excursions that come to the islet. If you get the chance, don’t hesitate to try their paellas.
How to get to El Puertito
If you want to get to the island of Lobos you will have to take a boat from Corralejo. Without a doubt, it is a worthwhile experience. We leave you with our gallery, where you can take a look at some photographs of El Puertito.
